About Me
Personal experience is the best teacher. Here is a little bit of personal info about me:
I’m at my best when I’m relaxed, grounded, centered, and connected to my body and the earth. Nothing terribly unique there! My spirit really comes alive in northern New England where for years I’ve traveled many miles on waterways and mountain trails. One of my primary “access” roads to that country is I-91 up along the Connecticut River through Vermont. While the whole drive north is extremely beautiful, something happens north of White River Junction – something opens within me, some subtle excitement, some inner joy begins to glow. My soul wakes up and expands me.
I’m at my worst in separation from all that. I forget to recharge, refuel, reconnect and take care of myself. It’s a slippery slope that I don’t always recognize as it’s tipping. When this happens, my inner life becomes dull. I tire. In the real depths, I get sick, I depress. I can’t concentrate or think clearly. Being in this state is most difficult when life delivers the “next upset” and escalates the slide. I understand this pattern.
Fortunately, I’ve made it far enough along in life to know the problem and identify “the forgetting.” Which doesn’t necessarily make it that much easier to “self-correct.” An essential lesson I’ve learned is that you can’t bypass difficult emotions. They’re there for a reason, and if suppressed, will only go into hiding. There’s a real skill/art in learning to allow difficult emotions without letting them commandeer the whole ship.
So what might that mean for you? I am open to learning how I can best assist you in identifying your own patterns and next steps.
